It's time for an update to how we handle time! Now that we are a couple days into the first season of this year, I'll explain how our flow of time will now work. We will be keeping double time, but our time will be more fluid. Essentially, from here on, you will be allowed to back date threads.

All threads from here on out will need to have a date AND time listed in the thread title. This will allow users to see exactly when a thread occurred.

Previously, if you posted a new thread, the time and date that thread was posted was the time in which that event was happening. We are altering the rules regarding timelines to allow you to backdate threads for any date in the current year. (This is Year 3.) So this year started on 8.29.19. You may date a thread from the current date backward to the first day of the year. So as today is 8/31/19, you may date a thread for any date between 8/29/19 and 8.31.19. You may not date threads forward.

So as the year progresses, you will be able to date threads for any time that has already passed in the year, but you must be careful not to break your own character's timelines. The best way to track a character's timeline is to go to their profile and click the button on it labelled "Thread Log". It shows every thread the character has ever participated in. Likewise, events that would break your timelines should also be carefully monitored. So, for example, if I posted a thread for a character dated for today in the desert, it would break the timeline if I posted a thread dated for the 29th in which they ended up dying.

Excessively breaking your own timelines or other characters' timelines is frowned upon and if done consistently, Staff may intervene. Tomorrow I will be instituting changes to leader logs and pregnancies that reflect these changes, so keep an eye out! Please DM or PM a staffer if you have any questions.

The Salvus Empire
4/07/19 - After Mihnue has gone missing, Vulcan leaves Ireneus to expand his search for her after offering Kicheko Faraja the place of King. Kicheko accepts, making major changes to the Ireneus Empire, including renaming to Salvus, which is Latin for 'Saved' as a symbol of overcoming a near-loss of the group as a whole. He makes his wife, Mitis Faraja, Queen at his side.

1/27/2019 - Mihnue Caelius has made two bridges so all Salvus members can cross the Whip safely.

1/6/2019 - Mihnue Caelius & Vulcan Valerius have founded the Ireneus Empire. They've also  created a neutrality pact with the Okan Pride and Damia Atse.

Explanation of Ranks
King/Queen - The leaders of Salvus. They are in charge of keeping the empire running. They are responsible for handling alliances, truces, outside meetings, etc. They have the final say in everything. There may be one leader or two.

Heir - Next in line to become King or Queen. They are expected to claim leadership if something were to happen to the King and Queen, or both are incapable of leading. They do not necessarily have to be related to the King or Queen, but they will be taught by the King and/or Queen personally on leadership. There can only be one Heir at a time. Like the King and Queen, they may invite and accept creatures into Salvus' borders, allow others to join, remove and grant ranks, and enforce the leaders will, only after they reach the age of 2.

Dominus - The advisors of the King and Queen. They serve as the council of Salvus, offering input and advice to the King and Queen. Like the King and Queen, they may invite and accept creatures into Salvus' borders, allow others to join, remove and grant ranks, and enforce the leaders will. There can only be four Dominus at a time, and they are hand-chosen by the King and/or Queen themselves.

Guard - Defensive fighters who specialize in protecting Salvus' territory and citizens. They are encouraged to apprehend tresspassers at the border and are permitted to use non-lethal force if they must. Guards can volunteer to participate in raids and wars, but it is not preferred. Guards are encouraged to teach Salvus citizens defensive fighting.

Knight - Offensive fighters who specialize in fighting in raids and wars. They are encouraged to apprehend tresspassers at the border and are permitted to use non-lethal force if they must. Knights will typically be called upon to accompany the King and/or Queen in outside meetings and events or to track down criminals outside of Salvus. Knights are encouraged to teach Salvus citizens offensive fighting.

Healer - The medics of the empire. Healers primarily tend to the sick and injured via herbal or magical means. They are to be called upon in the need of treatment and are expected to help those within Salvus and outside. There may be times were a Healer or two are called to attend raids and wars to tend to the injured, be it Salvus or the enemy.

Hunter - The main providers of food for Salvus. They may hunt anywhere in Omne except for other groups' lands and Salvus' own. Hunting within the forest and hunting sentient creatures is not allowed.

Nanny - The babysitters of the empire. They look after the young of Salvus and protect them from harm. They are allowed to take children outside the borders. If the children's parents are within Salvus, parental permission must be granted. Nannies must learn basic defensive fighting tactics if they don't already know them.

Architect - The builders of Salvus. Their primary task is to create new buildings that will benefit the empire, including homes for the citizens. They are also expected to regularly tend to preexisting buildings, repairing damage and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of these buildings.

Scout - Messengers that roam Omne, gathering information about other groups and lands. They are required to observe claims and report back to the King and/or Queen with any information they recieve. They may also be asked to transport items and deliver messages to other groups or creatures. Scouts will not be asked to decieve or spy on anyone.

Teacher - Providers of education. They are responsible for educating the citizens of Salvus, of all ages and ranks. They are expected to prioritize education about Omne itself, other groups, runestones, and magic. Second priority is education on survival skills such as hunting, defensive fighting, injury identification and herbal use, including magical. Teachers are heavily encouraged to harvest runestones to expand their own education if necessary. Teachers should host occasional group lessons.

Rejea - Swahili for "New", these citizens have committed a major crime (examples include but aren't limited to stealing, maiming, forcebreeding, and kidnapping) in the past, whether it be an offense to Salvus to an offense to someone outside of Salvus, and are in a trial period to determine their will to repeat their wrongdoings. They are not to approach children under the age of 2 or leave Salvus' territory without the supervision of a non-Rejea adult over the age of 2. This can be forgiven if a near-adult is approached--someone who is just a few seasons away from 2--and they are watched closely. Their main tasks are to learn about Salvus' ranks in the case they wish to remain after their sentence is over and to focus on doing good things for Salvus. Good deeds can reduce the Rejea's sentence while anything deserving of punishment, such as breaking Salvus' laws, can extend the sentence. When a Rejea has proven themselves safe to release and trustworthy, they will be offered a rank in Salvus or the freedom to leave Salvus. All Rejea are to be treated with respect, no matter the crime committed. Bullying of a Rejea is not accepted, no matter their crime.
Shison Pride
Neutral | Neutrality Pact
I. Respect everyone, no matter their rank, species, sex, age, etc.
II. Don't go causing trouble. Salvus is a realm of peace. Attacking creatures for no reason may be considered a crime.
III. Rank fighting is not an encouraged practice. If you desire a certain rank, talk to the King/Queen, Heir, or a Dominus.
IV. Everyone is expected to pull their own weight, and if you don't, you'll lose your rank. Creatures looking for a job should talk to a member of the council or royalty.
V. Visitors at the border are to be met by Guards or Knights and allowed inside with permission from the council or royalty.
VI. Trespassers are to be warned and escorted back to the border. If they do not leave Salvus' land willingly, then they may be met with hostility. It’s up to the guard or knight how they want to handle the situation.
VII. Children under the age of two are not allowed to leave the kingdom lands without an adult. This is for their safety and should be taken seriously.
VIII. The Rainforest is off limits, and their inhabitants are to be left alone.
IX. Hunting within Salvus' borders as well as hunting sentient creatures is forbidden and will be seen as murder in the case of hunting a sentient creature.
