It's time for an update to how we handle time! Now that we are a couple days into the first season of this year, I'll explain how our flow of time will now work. We will be keeping double time, but our time will be more fluid. Essentially, from here on, you will be allowed to back date threads.

All threads from here on out will need to have a date AND time listed in the thread title. This will allow users to see exactly when a thread occurred.

Previously, if you posted a new thread, the time and date that thread was posted was the time in which that event was happening. We are altering the rules regarding timelines to allow you to backdate threads for any date in the current year. (This is Year 3.) So this year started on 8.29.19. You may date a thread from the current date backward to the first day of the year. So as today is 8/31/19, you may date a thread for any date between 8/29/19 and 8.31.19. You may not date threads forward.

So as the year progresses, you will be able to date threads for any time that has already passed in the year, but you must be careful not to break your own character's timelines. The best way to track a character's timeline is to go to their profile and click the button on it labelled "Thread Log". It shows every thread the character has ever participated in. Likewise, events that would break your timelines should also be carefully monitored. So, for example, if I posted a thread for a character dated for today in the desert, it would break the timeline if I posted a thread dated for the 29th in which they ended up dying.

Excessively breaking your own timelines or other characters' timelines is frowned upon and if done consistently, Staff may intervene. Tomorrow I will be instituting changes to leader logs and pregnancies that reflect these changes, so keep an eye out! Please DM or PM a staffer if you have any questions.

Amelia looked up when Mitis joined her at the young cub, blinking slowly at the woman. She took a few steps back and then lay down, curling her tail around her right side. The poor cub seemed frustrated, and Amelia didn't have to think too hard about how frightening the whole thing could be.

She turned her head to look toward the pile, giving hardly a passing glance to Damia's older children. She settled her gaze on the young cub for a moment, one ear turned toward him, the other toward the young girl requesting her parents. "Micah!" The fox called, raising her voice to a sing-song level to try to get the cub's attention. If it wasn't this Micah child, then they would ignore her call. If it was, she hoped they would come.

Her eyes shifted back over to the little girl, and then glanced sideways at Mitis, tilting her head slightly. "They... would be safer in Ireneus... than being left out here alone," she spoke softly to the older woman. It was not Amelia's intention to startle the cub, but it was clear that their parents were no longer around.

They were in Omne now, at the will of the gods, and that was that.

Micah didn't even really consider what he grabbed. Though it was small and fit in his mouth. This was due to his sister letting out mewls for help. She was calling for their parents he thought. Oh. He should have thought about that. He was so distracted with what was going on he didn't think about that. Anger rushed his body as he turned around to see strangers surrounding his sister. Well he was pretty sure it was her. She called his name. Though she was blue. He didn't think about that when he first work up. Rushing back to his sister's side. After all she was where he left his sister, so it had to be her. His ears pinned back in anger and his fur fluffed up. He attempted to get between Kanta and the strangers, facing the larger creatures. His small wing would then very clumsily stretch out in instinct. Trying to block her from view. The smell of her then hit him again, reassuring him that it was indeed her. He felt the wings move and was momentarily freaked out. But his urge to protect his sister was stronger then his urge to freak out. A snarl left his maw and he dropped his object. Unknown to him at the moment it was an earing in the shape of a feather with the magical pearl sitting where the eye of a peacock feather would. NO TOUCH! he growled as he attempted to get in position. This was his sister.

The woman grabbed an object gently with her teeth before lifting her head. She didn't bother looking at it as of right now. No, her attention was drawn towards the two winged cubs and she listened as the familiar fox spoke. Mitis also approached the two, asking her own questions. Ireneus was mentioned and the woman approached as the child growled at the two. He seemed protective of who she assumed to be his sister, which wasn't a bad trait to have at all. Though he likely couldn't  cause anyone true harm, it was admirable to see how brave the cub was.

She stopped a few feet to his left, observing his posture for a moment before setting her pearl on the ground. "Hi there, young one. You're name is Micah, right?" That's what everyone had called him, including the other cub. "My name is Mihnue. There is no need to be afraid. These are my friends. They won't hurt your sister." Her voice was soft, hopefully portraying a tone that a mother would utilize when talking to her own young. Her attention turned to the female cub who she supposed was frightened by all of the strange faces.

Mihnue would approach the blue child, moving a somewhat slow place so she was in front of her, before lowering herself to the cub's height. "Don't cry, I promise no one will hurt you." The woman said as she offered her a small smile, attempting to use the tip of the feathers from her right wing to wipe away the child's tears. She was hoping her calm demeanor and gentle actions soothed the startled children.

Avatar Credit  Mihnue will always be wearing her satchel(link in Guardian's Keep) unless stated otherwise.

Karcsi's paw hooked around a couple of items and drew back. His tail twitched, and then he was frozen and silent. Everything was dark. His heart sped up, panic clawing quickly at his throat. Was he blind? Dead? No, of course not. He certainly wasn't, because a large black lion suddenly stood in a pool of light before him.

A god.

A real, live god.

One item below his paw vanished, turning to smoke, while the other weaved its way up his leg, a slender chain that rose like a snake until it coiled tightly around his neck. It was painfully tight and he wanted to cry out but found himself unable to so much as  whimper. A lesson? He had never been punished in his short life! What was this madness!?

Greed had to be tempered by reason, and he had to wait a whole season before he could approach the lion again. As the world returned to his view, the boy let out a small, shocked mewl and shook his head. He looked around the gathering, wide-eyed and a little confused. A curse.

He had been cursed.

He had been cursed and given a terrible necklace but maybe it wasn't so bad. The boy could not currently see a bright side to his predicament - he was being punished for the first time in his life, and he didn't quite know what to do about that. "Cress, Cress let's go home," he mewed softly, lowering his ears and glancing around. He felt a bit ashamed to have been unable to talk himself out of that one, even if no one else had noticed it happen.

Damia heard the commotion. Arriving late on the scene. There was a lot going on when she arrived. Seeing some familiar faces, and happy to see her two oldest amongst them. But before she could really go over to them, a feeling hit her. Shadow broke a rule. She didn't know what rule he had broke, but his location was passively fed to her making it easy to find him. Ignoring the pile of thing to the side, she went straight for him. She didn't catch Shadows words, but she recognized the feline he was talking to. She never got his name, but that was ok. She was happy to see him again. He made her feel strangely about Corrin though. But that was ok. Though she caught his words to shadow.there is not a scratch on you kid. Was he telling him lies about her? It didn't make sense that the rule he broke was not introducing himself as Atse. After all, given the males words, it seemed he was talking about being hurt? And it mentioned her and they were not allowed to touch her. Anger boiled in her blood. She protected him. Fed him. Gave him a family. And he decided to throw it in her face? How dare he? Right now she was being careful because she was pregnant. She knew she was. So she didn't want to just tear into him. And not in front of others. "Shadow Atse!" Her tone hard as she attempted to stand on Dragon's left side facing Shadow. "What did I say about telling lies? I took you in, and this is how you repay me? You are now grounded to the Grotto Mister and you will not leave the land until I say otherwise" She took on a very strict parenting tone then with a sigh she turned to Dragon, though she didn't know his name. "Im sorry he is bothering you, He is a very troubled teen and Im trying to help him." she briefly explained. With another glare towards Shadow she waited.

OC NOTE: Damia added another command to Shadow, He is now not allowed to leave Grotto territory. (unless he wants to get in trouble again XD)

@Shadow @Dragon

Dragon was half waiting in the kid to rip into him, either verbally or physically. It would be a poor move on his part. Dragon could see most of his own group gathered, and nearby were a number of others who, while maybe not friends with him, likely wouldn't want to see a terrible fight. Especially in front of children. His heavy tail twitched, the red tip flicking like a live snake as he waited on the wolf to speak back up. Or attack - whichever came first. And then lo, the red woman appeared as if born down by the gods themselves. And she smelled pregnant.

"Miss Atse," Dragon greeted with a dip of his head, inferring that, based on the child's name, that the woman's surname happened to be the same. "No trouble at all. Children can be difficult," once more the man felt little need to include his name. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to head back home. Good luck with him - and the others," he meant the pregnancy. Even though at a glance he had pinned the ruby leopard as also a child of Miss Atse, he couldn't be sure and made no assumptions.

The man rose to his paws, giving a glance at the black and white wolf. Ruby eyes narrowed slightly, clearly unamused at the boy's seemingly false accusations against the woman. He lowered his head to the red leopardess before turning toward Ireneus, his ears alert. Just in case the wolf, or even Miss Atse, decided to tail him.

Shadow filled with anger and he had hard time hiding it. Filthy useless cat. When She gets here I will merely say he threaten to hurt me. Maybe I can scrape my leg on a rock or something to make it look believable.  Before he could respond an angry, yet familiar voice called his real name then one he loathed. Great she's here. As Damia came into his view His ears went down and his tail tucked between his legs. Those two words cut into him and caused his blood to boil. I should run over to the stirpless tiger and see if she will help me. I loath her kind even more. Too bad she isn't a lion. My other Father was a strong creature. Yet he had the black heart of a slaver. He truly took me under his wing though. Lions are not bad felines. Leopards and tigers...they are should all be wiped from the forest.

While locked in his musings about what to do he missed everything after she announced his name until his mind snapped back at He is a very troubled teen and I'm trying to help him. After that he immediately dropped the submissive stance and his hackle rose as he let out a short growl. Troubled? I'm not troubled. She's a crazy slaver. He listened to Dragon respond to His "Mother's" remarks and thought about what he could say to her. His mind wandered as he figured out what say to her. I loath that black leopard. I think I will lie and say he threatened me and wants to kill me or that Ireneus was going to conquer the Grotto and enslave her.

He watched Dragon's expression as he got up and walked away. I think I may have made an enemy.  He chucked a bit as he watched the leopard walk away. The young wolf's head turned to Damia and he noticed she was pregnant. A pang of guilt hit him over what he had tried to get Dragon to do. Whatever is inside her is not evil like she is. Kids are innocent. I know I was at one point. "Lets go" His voice was cold. The gravity of what he had done was finally sinking in.

-Exit with Damia-?
@Damia @Dragon

Her blue fur didn't lower, nor did her arched back lower. Her ears pressed tightly against her skull, and her sharp claws scraped against the grass anxiously. So much going on. So many smells, sounds, and sights. Could it actually be Micah? He had seemed to quickly respond, even going as far as to do what Micah would be known to do. In her short life, which she still had yet to figure out had ended long ago, she had always liked Micah. He looked so different. But...she had no reason to believe he wasn't Micah, besides him looking different. But then again, so did Kanta. Her feathered wings hugged at her sides tightly. They had to run away, like last time. Attempting to get the message to Micah, the cub would lean forward, slightly, as she attempted to hover her muzzle towards her brother. "Run?" She'd insist readily. "Like then."

They were good cubs--they would be saved, like this time. They would always be saved, so long they were good.

OC: Lord, it's short. Let me know if this doesn't satisfy the post count, though.

The little things were fierce. The little male announced that his sister was not to be touched. The situation engrossed her and Mitis didn’t even notice the red leopardess or the wolf boy. She glanced briefly at Mihnue and Amelia before something settled inside her. They intended to run, she realized, and Mitis was worried they’d starve to death if they didn’t have someone to feed them. She and Kicheko had wanted children... and these two needed them. Anxiety pressing her, the hyena whooped as loudly as she could to call for her husband, not ready to force the children on him if he didn’t want them.

”It’s okay. Are you hungry? I bet you are... you’re so brave to protect your sister. It’s going to be okay, though. Just sit still and rest till my husband gets here,” she soothed, voice coming out rapidly due to her anxiety. All she could think about was them going hungry and it being all her fault. She’d never sleep again. Or if something awful ate them. Gods... the workd was a dangerous place for a child. Sometimes she forgot that. Ears flattened softly and her mane stood up a bit, notating her alarm. She hoped Kicheko areived soon... she couldnmt make this call alone.

"NO TOUCH!" Amelia crossed her front paws, carefully bunching her hind legs below her body. She had her magic gathered up and ready to activate quick reflexes in case the two cubs bolted, but for the moment she remained poised and apparently still, just watching them. One ear turned to listen to Mitis's voice, and her muzzle broke into a smile.

"Miss Mitis is the kindest woman I've ever met, and she lives in the most beautiful forest with her husband and her family. No one gets hurt there, and everyone is safe and protected because of Queen Mihnue and King Vulcan. They wouldn't hurt you at all," the fox kept her voice gentle and soft, watching the two cubs. They really were precious little babies, but Amelia could only do so much to help them. And part of them was getting them to join Ireneus, and go with those who she knew could love and protect them.

Warmth showed in her green eyes, and while she was prepared to give chase she was otherwise calm. The kids were only acting as they felt they needed too, after all. And it was touching how much Micah was protecting his sister. It almost made Amelia miss her family.

Aesir pulled a ring from the pile, relatively simple in style. It was silver and set with a pearlescent stone and it seemed magical to Aesir. The hyena grinned, slipping it on. He looked up to see his mother and he gave her a smile, looking over the others present to see several things playing out. First, a wolf coming up to a leopard and declaring that he was kidnapped. Then he saw the leopardess come to claim him and scold him. Aesir frowned, wondering what that was about, but when he glanced at his mother, he did not see concern on her face, more calculation.

If his mother was not worried, Aesir saw no need to be. He waited for a moment for things to settle down before he decided it was time for him to go. The hyena turned and trotted off, proud of his find and his magic practice. He trotted back towards home, mind turning over herbs and seeking out his grandmother for a few lessons. After all, she was family right?

Mitis' call had the Dominus raise his head and drop his fiddling with a stick. He was aware of the recent chaos, and to be better safe than sorry for the time being, he had kept himself passive and away from the chaos best he could. He had felt guilt to upset Mitis during the long-lasting storm, and he had promised not to do it again. Go with her, or not at all. He chose not at all this time. He had been hoping to see Mitis' abdomen swell with the expectancy of cubs, only for the hyena to grow in suspicion that their last attempt to conceive had failed. It was okay, though. There was always another day to try. He made his way out of Ireneus, whooping at the approximate halfway point in attempts to let her know her call hadn't gone unnoticed.

When he arrived, he was met with an interesting scene. Mitis, Amelia, Mihnue. Normal. Two cowering cubs. Not normal. He paid little mind to everything else going on around the area. "What's going on?" He questioned with a questioning look to his spouse. Where were these cubs parents? Quite interesting they looked. Winged and uniquely colored for big cats.
