It's time for an update to how we handle time! Now that we are a couple days into the first season of this year, I'll explain how our flow of time will now work. We will be keeping double time, but our time will be more fluid. Essentially, from here on, you will be allowed to back date threads.

All threads from here on out will need to have a date AND time listed in the thread title. This will allow users to see exactly when a thread occurred.

Previously, if you posted a new thread, the time and date that thread was posted was the time in which that event was happening. We are altering the rules regarding timelines to allow you to backdate threads for any date in the current year. (This is Year 3.) So this year started on 8.29.19. You may date a thread from the current date backward to the first day of the year. So as today is 8/31/19, you may date a thread for any date between 8/29/19 and 8.31.19. You may not date threads forward.

So as the year progresses, you will be able to date threads for any time that has already passed in the year, but you must be careful not to break your own character's timelines. The best way to track a character's timeline is to go to their profile and click the button on it labelled "Thread Log". It shows every thread the character has ever participated in. Likewise, events that would break your timelines should also be carefully monitored. So, for example, if I posted a thread for a character dated for today in the desert, it would break the timeline if I posted a thread dated for the 29th in which they ended up dying.

Excessively breaking your own timelines or other characters' timelines is frowned upon and if done consistently, Staff may intervene. Tomorrow I will be instituting changes to leader logs and pregnancies that reflect these changes, so keep an eye out! Please DM or PM a staffer if you have any questions.

Fang felt a bit better after meeting some other members in the group. Still he felt like he didn't quite belong. He sighed as ascended the mountain. It felt good to get away and wander a bit in an attempt to dispel the small shreds of negativity that remained. He hadn't really explored much of this new world. A running brook caught his attention and he walked over and looked at his reflection. 'In another time my appearance would have bothered me. I actually don't really mind it anymore. I'm different now. Much different. It feels good to be free of hate and anger. Yet I will still carry the weight of past choices.' Slowly he bent over and grabbed a drink. The cool mountain water tasted good.

He dunked his head in to cool off and immediately regretted it when a cool mountain breeze cut through the now wet fur on his face. "That was not a good choice." He mumbled to him self as he started back up the mountain. A short while later #Thermometer would turn on and his body would flood with warmth. This was the second time this happened and it startled him. Fang paused to look around.  'No fire near by. Freezing cold mountain. Magic? I doubt I have magic. I've never had magic. But it must be magic.' He focused again and the warmth faded away. Excitedly he tried again and #Thermometer turned back on a second time. A smile crossed is face as he raced up the mountain. Heat started to build up quickly inside him and he stopped again to dispel it. 'This is awesome. I wonder what else I can do?' On a quick impulse he threw his head back and let out a howl as he waited for his body to cool down.

Bright and early, before the spring sunlight had crawled to the horizon, Dragon was up and moving. He had considered for awhile now if he was going to take Nala from Shison, if he was going to show her Omne, and finally he had decided it was time. Past time. He awoke still in the dark, moving from his den with a gaping yawn. The soft glow of his eyes did not illuminate around him, but their eerie glow certainly gave away his location as he padded quietly to his daughter.

"Nala, wake up. Come on, sweetheart, let's go," Dragon's voice was low and gentle, attempting to stir the girl even in the darkness. They both blended into shadow well, and Dragon was thankful that his daughter looked like him. That she could so easily be seen as his daughter. "We're going on an adventure today; how would you like to see some mountains?"

/* Time Skip */

Dragon had forgotten how far north the mountains were. He had forgotten how far he was from Ireneus, and from where he had began his new life. He had forgotten until the sun began to peak over the horizon and he caught a glimpse of the vast, towering mountains above. And then he recalled. It was a long walk.

"There," he purred as he spotted a path up into the mountains. He had chatted to Nala as they walked, of course; nothing terribly serious, but this was the first directive he had given. "We should be able to get up and hunt - mountain goats and such, and I can show you-" he started to tell her how a snow leopard hunts before a howl broke through the air. Dragon's head lifted fully, pulling himself to his full height with dark ears perked toward the noise. Feline was overruled by habit so deeply ingrained that the man for a moment did not realize what he was doing, tilting his muzzle up and opening his jaws.

Snow leopards, Dragon recalled as he answered the howl, did not roar. Nor did they howl. They made a most awkward sound as though saying aurough or halough but it was called a chuff. And Dragon had gotten very good at chuffing, though mostly he just squeaked or meowed when he wanted to get attention to him now, but still. The need to answer the howl was ingrained in his soul, and it would be good for Nala to meet someone outside of Shison so long as the wolf was sentient. Thus far Dragon had not seen the wolf, only heard, but now he had a direction to go. "Alright, Nala, first one to find the wolf gets to pick what we hunt, and where," Dragon's eyes swung to his daughter, muscles coiling. She was faster than him and he was fully intending to let her beat him - though not by much. If the wolf turned out to be hostile, he wanted to be able to keep the girl from getting hurt. Still, he wanted to make it a game for her - to make the whole day as fun as possible.
